Walking past this Van yesterday looked at the car seat in the back quickly and i saw this must of been around 6 months old sitting in a booster seat laying on the bottom of it with its head bent up the back of the seat and the seat belt around its neck.

I stopped and got so cranky i walked up to the woman and said have you considered adoption for your child she looked at me and said no with a puzzled look on her face..
I said well if you have any accident in this car your baby would probly die so why dont you give it to some one who can look after it if you dont want too and i walked off.

She yelled out some nasty words to me.

I suppose i should have rung the police but i dont know if they would have even shown up...

Oh well some people really give me the craps...

Wow - some parents/caregivers really are ridiculous when it comes to vehicle safety ... I too have to admit that it does take me some effort not to do just what you did in similar situations - but it sure is helpful to have the police # programmed into my cell phone ... that way, I don't feel the need to confront anyone & I feel confident that the person is getting the info they require ;)

BTW, today I did good carseat deed  I've debated for a few weeks about this situation & decided that I was not going to call the police on this couple because they were in fact using a safety seat - the problem was that I couldn't be really sure if it was expired (a very old looking T shield) ... I decided that although our LapTop has come in so handy at times, we do have other seats at our disposal - so today I struck up a conversation with this dad ... his preschooler is Special Needs - I said I noticed that he & his wife lug their heavy seat in & out of the Nursery School on a daily basis (they share the seat, 2 different vehicles), said it looks close to expiring & I just happen to have a seat that worked great for my Special Needs niece ... he was very interested, said they'd been thinking about getting their son a booster for Xmas because the T shield was actually their teenage kids' seat years ago  I explained that this crash tests better than a booster, can be used on kids who weight up to 65 pounds, is made of EPS foam & can be very easily switched from vehicle to vehicle - so Dad went home excited with a new safer seat & I was so relieved to know that this little 3 year old Special Needs boy will not be at risk in a booster!
