Help Installing a MA in an F-250 Super Duty

We have a 2003 F250 Supercab and are also having this problem with the carseat hitting the back window. We are trying to install a Britax Marathon forward facing. Has anyone had any luck installing one properly? We were wondering if there is anything we can use to space the carseat away from the backseat so it doesn't hit the window?

Re: repost: F-250 Super Duty Britax installs

That second diagram is how the MA installs in the 3rd row of my Mazda5. Lemme see if the pic I took shows the base at all...

Well, the vehicle seat is black so you can't see it in my pic. As long as 80% of the base is on the vehicle seat, and you otherwise had a good install, I'd be comfortable with it.

To the PP - no, you can't use anything to "pad" the space. It would likely result in giving you a false sense that the carseat was installed tightly, when whatever you used to pad the space would actually compress in a crash and leave the carseat loose.

Thanks for your help. We will try and install it with 80% of the carseat on the seat. We didn't know that that was allowed. We didn't think we could put anything behind it but wanted to make sure.
