Manual for Safety First Uptown - anyone?

Can someone help me with the Uptown manual - I can't find mine. We're flying QANTAS at the end of the month and I had to give them several pieces of information about the carseat, one is if it has a sticker that says it can be used on an airplane. The Uptown sticker says in red writing - it's certified for airplane use - but there is no Code or number for that certification, and they wanted to know that. On the page in the manual that talks about airplane use, does it give a number code or anything? If yes, please let me know what it is, then I can call back and provide that information and get approval to use the seat.

And fingers crossed I can find the manual before we fly, as I know QANTAS can be difficult about car seats, so I need the manual in case I need to show them I can use it on the plane. If you were a car seat manual, where would you be hiding?

Sheesh...it shouldn't be this difficult to keep your child safe on the plane.

I looked in the manual and there is no code. Maybe you need to give them the FMVSS test number? I have no idea what that is though.

Here is the wording from the manual:

This child restraint is certified for aircraft use only. Use on forward-facing aircraft seats only and in a position where the lap belt can be tightened securely. This child restraint is installed in an aircraft seat the same way it is installed in a vehicle.

Use the child restraint only with F.A.A certified equipment. Contact the airline prior to taking a child restraint on board in order to comply with their specific regulations.

You can also look up the instructions on Dorel's website here: http://www.coscojuvenile.com/instructions/index.asp.

The model number needs to be entered as 22475BVL, or at least that's what mine is, along with your DOM.

Thanks. I printed out a copy, and of course I'll probably find our manual now.

Fingers crossed we get approval to use the seat. It's 13.5 hour flight, I really really want DS in his car seat so he sleeps as much as possible.
