I am new to this board. I am looking for a seat for my DS. He is 23 months, >35 lbs and > 3 feet tall. He is currently FF in an Alpha Omega Elite 3-in-1. I want to be able to harness him past 40 lbs. I am in BC and have been looking for a seat but can't seem to find one in local stores. I don't even know which kind of seat I am looking for to be honest. I would love some suggestions as well as places I could find one! TIA!

There's a sticky post at the top of this forum that says
"List of High Weight Seats in Canada"

The tallest on the list is the Radian, but it may be difficult to install in your car. Another seat I would consider (that's easily available) is the Marathon--since it installs well in a variety of vehicles.

Some stores in the Vancouver area (you didn't say where you are) are:
TJs Kids
Crocodile Baby
Baby's World
Babies R Us

TJs in Victoria has both the Radian and the Marathon. There isn't anything I can think of up island, however.

Thank you for being so helpful! I think I will go for the Marathon. I have heard good things about them. I can always order it from TRU website. I just wish I never bought the AOE :banghead:

I second the Radian or the Marathon. If you can actually go into TJ's or into a BRU, you could see if they'd let you try them in your car to see if you can get a better install with either of them. I would go for the Radian personally over a a MA if you can get a good install, but that's just my opinion. I love my Radians :)

Welcome, Tammy! Has he definitely outgrown the AOE? At his height, he will likely outgrow the carseat by height. I am assuming you have the harness straps in their top usable harness slot position. Please see this very helpful post:

If his shoulders become level with the harness straps, then you need to make sure they do not go above the harness straps. If they do, then the seat is outgrown. If they are below the harness straps, then you have a bit of time.

The reason that I mention this is because there are two new carseats that should be making an appearance in Canada in the next few months. Right now the Radian and Marathon are great picks if you need a seat right now. I would really recommend the Radian over the Marathon because it is going to last a bit longer (a year or more) than the Marathon. The top harness slots on the Radian are an inch higher than the Marathon. I do agree with PPs that both are great seats. What type of car will you be installing the seat in?

The new seats are the Graco Nautilus and the Britax Frontier. According to speculation, both of these seats would be great for you. The Britax Frontier is expected to ship to Canada in June, and should be here shortly after since they ship from the US. We don't know when the Nautilus is expected. The advantage of these seats is that they would last even longer than the Radian (harness height-wise), and they do convert to a booster. HTH and doesn't confuse you even more....

Let us know what type of vehicle, because the Radian installs great in some vehicles and is difficult to install in others...

Thank you! He isn't in the very top shoulder slot yet. I think he will outgrow the weight first anyways. I drive a 4 door 2002 Mazda Protege. Any more suggestions?
