Hump in the middle

How do you install a car seat in the safest, middle position, if there is a hump there? It seems most cars we have borrowed or rented lately have this annoying hump which makes it impossible to get a snug fit. Thankfully, taxi's don't have this, too.

It is often very difficult, but sometimes not impossible ... only at least 80% of carseat base must be in contact with the vehicle & it's OK if there's a tilt so long as the seat base does not move more than 1".

In your other thread I posted a few links for you, including how to find & contact your local child passenger safety technician ... I'd call someone (or many if necessary) asking for help installing convertibles in various vehicles - you may want to explain your situation :)
