Hi,
I drive a 2003 BMW 325i wagon. My two kids ride in the back, the 6-year-old 50-pounder in a Britax Bodyguard booster and the 2-year-old 33-pounder in a Britax Wizard. Everyone fits just fine.
However, the 6-year-old likes to bring friends over for after-school playdates, and this presents a conundrum as far as seat positioning. There's absolutely no room in the back for another carseat or booster. There IS room (barely) for a 50-pound kid to squeeze in the middle and be buckled in between the two car seats.
Is this safer than moving my 6-year-old in her booster seat to the front, with the seat all the way back (and it goes very far back)? Then, the friend could bring her own booster and sit in my daughter's usual spot in the back seat. Everyone would be in boosters/carseats this way.
The ride home is three miles with the option to take the freeway, or not.
I look forward to your replies. We've got a friend coming over Monday, so I hope to have a confident decision made by then!
