Too tall to RF?

We're going on vacation the end of the month and so I've bought my son a Scenera for this trip. I may have to do a three across situation in the back of a van and was able to work it with the Scenera RF. My son only weighs 33.5lbs(with clothes/shoes) so we'll sneak in under the weight limit. His height is what concerns me. If he sits up straight, he looks too tall but when he "settles" into the seat then he's ok. What do you think?

I think it looks good. You're right that it's very close, but that's okay.

He's a cutie!

Thanks Debbie. I think he's a cutie too. :) Now at least I know that's an option if I need to position it that way. We're not taking the Parkways with us but the FPSVD since I can take them apart. I think they are narrower than the PW.

He loved rfing in the seat but I think it would be an issue for a long drive. He'd already figured out that he could kick his sisters in the head.

LOL! Well, kicking them in the head could at least keep him entertained for quite some time... ;)

I'd offer to let you borrow the Radian for your trip, but Gypsy's already borrowing it! :D And the FPSVBs should definitely give you enough room to FF the Scenera if you have to anyway.

Notice Kasey reading the Parkway manual? She reads it cover to cover everytime she sits in the booster so she knows she's sitting right. Maybe a little of her mommy's neurosis has rubbed off.

ETA -- If I keep him rfing should I lower the straps? If he's sitting up straight they are even with his shoulders but when he settles into the seat then they are a little above.

LOL is that what she's reading? That's brilliant!

I wouldn't take too much of the "blame" for that, though. I'd have done the same thing at her age. I read everything I could get my hands on! I used to read the vehicle manual when I got bored on car trips. :D

I'd adjust them based on the "settled" position, but then they might still be too low to fit him well. If they're sliding off his shoulders when you move them down, I'd leave them up. :twocents:

Hey - that was my littlest's favorite car activities when he was about 10mo!
