Which seat for traveling?

We will be going to Chicago in a few weeks and we will need to bring a seat on the plane and for the car trips while we are there. We bought the Radian over a year ago for plane travel and haven't taken any trips via plane until now. This morning in just a diaper, DS weighed 32 lbs. Last night in just a diaper DS weighed 32.5 lbs. We just bought a True Fit for the 2 extra RFing lbs. I would love to use the Radian b/c I hear it is so easy to use but I think we are going to have FF the seat in the car (I know we have to do so on the plane). Would you bring the True Fit to avoid FFing him? He will be riding in the captains chair of a Chrysler Grand Caravan that is about 2 years old. I'm hoping it will not be snowing or icy by then b/c I will really not want to turn him then. Also, DS is very good at communicating what he wants and I'm worried he'll scream about RFing when we get home after FFing. I guess I'll just have to ignore it b/c I know it's safest. I could feed him a no-fat diet until we leave.. but that's probably not the best idea either:)
Thanks!

I *personally* would take the Radian. Only because I know how much a carseat in an airport sucks, and the folding function of the Radian makes it a lot easier. Then again, it's up to you, but my dd wouldn't care if I turned her RF again once we got home, so this is really a total parental decision.
