Though I do wish they could do without the AGE limit - it's a HUGE improvement.

Yeah! I wish the law wasn't necessary, but since so many feel that if it is legal, it is safe, the law is very important.

Yay! Oh I hope ohio is next!

DH's friend in MI is not going to be happy. His kids are 7 and 5 I think and he's, well....not the most safety concious person. They each have their own quads they are allowed to freely ride around the property on.

New Law

* Children under 8 and under 4’9” tall must be in a child restraint. A child restraint can be a car seat with harness straps or a booster seat used with the vehicle’s lap and shoulder belt.

Is that how the law reads?
It is very misleading - sounds like any age child can be in a booster seat.

Unless it has a proper use clause (does it?) I think that a 2 year old in a booster, etc would be legal.
