Compass Folding Booster?

I haven't seen much said about this booster, so I thought I'd ask for opinions. Since I never ever ever plan to undo my Husky's once I have two and they are both in, I thought about grabbing a couple Compass's after we get some tax money back, to keep on hand in case our kids are going to ride in other people's cars. I also thought it might be a good one for grandparents to keep in the trunk. Are these good? Bad? Okay, but not super highly recommended?

okay, NOW i see lots of old posts about it LOL. The main complaint seems to be that its pretty short. I'm thinking that if you're getting a seat for occassional use - it would suck to get one that costs this much but won't last as long as some of the others - even though it folds.

Yep, you found the caveat, LOL. Most 48" tall kids I know are too tall/almost too tall for it. Too bad, because it's so cushy, and has a generous seating area.

For a seat that will only be used once in awhile, I'd look at the Graco Turbo Booster. It has EPS foam in the headwings and can also be used backless (the back easily removes from the seat portion) for kids over 40 pounds (as long as the vehicle has high seatbacks or headrests at least up to the tips of the child's ears), and the base models are pretty affordable. The higher-priced ones have fabric-covered armrests, more padding in the seat area, and sometimes reversible covers.
