what should I do with my covers?

Hello, I now have 2 Onyx covers (one for my Marathon and one for the Regent). These are my spare covers so I thought that I would spruce them up some. I know Britax allows embroidery so I am assuming that I can embroider anywhere on them. I want something pretty since I have two girls. I kinda want them to match too if that is possible. Also, want something that I could possibly sell in the future so nothing personalized. I have an art minor so I can paint on them also. I also sew (maybe add lace around the top of them?) and my mom has an embroidery machine with pretty much any character or design imaginable (from hello kitty to Mickey Mouse to Dora to Kermit.. just a few of them). I've got plenty of time, I just want to have fun with them! Any suggestions on what I should put on them. When they are done, I will post pictures!

Thanks!

My kids are big time into art right now. Their favorite is 'Starry Night' if I had any artistic ability I might attempt to recreate that look on the black panels and maybe have some of the stars embroidered.

I'm not a big character person so that doesn't really appeal to me. When we talked about this before I wondered if you used RIT dye remover what color they would fade to. I'm thinking the black is more of a purple black than a green black and it would turn purplish.

OOOH... starry night! That sounds cool. I'm sure my mom could do stars on it. Plus against the black... Hmmm not bad.

Keep the suggestions coming!

I know of others who have some small embroidered designs on their covers to pretty them up. I would hesitate before trying dye remover, though, as it likely will also strip or reduce the cover's flame retardant properties. The same is true of embroidering extensively as the embroidery thread/floss probably lacks flame retardancy.

I'm not sure about painting in terms of any flammability issues and I'm really not artistic or crafty enough to know much about fabric paints at all. I would wonder about it in terms of will it rub off onto the child's clothing, or wear/peel/chip off over time? Will it wash off? I have no clue, lol.

I think stars embroidered with metallic thread would be beautiful. You could even put some planets, shooting stars, etc.

OOOH... that sounds neat with the metallic thread. I have fabric paints that I use to paint on sweatshirts and it doesn't wear off. I think I will go to my mom's and see what she thinks.

Dragonflies would be cool; you could do the wings with some metallic. I'm trying to think of things that meet the pretty requirement but are still gender neutral for resale purposes. Horses maybe?
