Need a seat asap...would you wait for the Frontier?

I thought the Frontier wouldn't be out until Summer, so I had written it off as as an option for now and have been looking for a Nautilus. Now that the Frontier looks to be getting close, I'm not sure what to do. Here's my scenario:

8yo dd in a Regent, 5yo dd in a Blvd and 2yo ds in a rf RA. My 2yo needs out of that RA asap as he's almost outgrown it rf and he's starting to wake up crying about his legs when he sleeps in it for any length of time. I was going to get him a True Fit, which would fit him rf until he hit the weight limit, but after initial reports, I decided to get my 5yo a Nautilus instead and give 2yo the Blvd. I haven't been able to find a GN though, and now the Frontier looks closer to coming out. I'm trying to decide if I should wait.

I do have some backup options. I have a EFTA. I hated it rf for my ds in my car, as it hurt my wrist terribly to tighten it rf for some reason. I don't have that problem when it's ff in dh's car for my 5yo, so I'm thinking of trying that in my car for her and putting ds in the Blvd for now. I'm not sure if they'll puzzle, though. I have had trouble with that seat puzzling in the past. My other option is for my 8yo to ride in her Recaro booster in the middle and put 5yo in the Regent for now. I don't think I want to do that, though, just to wait for a new seat, kwim?

My additional issue is I had a lot of trouble with the Blvd adjuster last time I tried it rf for my ds, and he hated the seat. That was when I switched him to the EFTA. He liked that, but the knob started hurting me so much that at that point I put the RA back in the car and decided to wait for the True Fit. Which brings me back to the beginning of my post.

So, anyone want to hash out what they would do in my situation? Is there some rf seat I'm not thinking of that has an easier harness?

Thanks!
Kirsten

i'd try to hold out for the frontier for the 5yr old and then hand down the blvd. graco obviously is having supply issues with the nautilus. on the other hand if you saw a nautilus and bought it to use. i'm sure you could resell it in a few months when the frontier is out since alot of people won't dish out the 280 that seat will cost.

I have learned over the course of time around here that you can never count your chickens before they hatch. ;)

So no, I would not wait for the Frontier unless the EFTA is able to work for you indefinitely.

I would try to find a GN, many walmarts will have them in stock in the next few weeks. Even if I had the chance to buy the Frontier I'm not so sure now that I would, the GN has surpased all my expectations!

Since you have safer options, i would wait. but, in my scheme of things, i am purchasing a Monarch and a Frontier and i am NEVER going to have to purchase another carseat ever again (for 4 kids) so the Frontier is a big asset IMHO...for less than the Blvd. that i was originally going to purchase.

how long will it take for the Frontier to be released? i guess thats teh million dollar Q...but they do seem to be releasing it around the end of April beginning of May....but historically how have tehy been in the past? I have no idea.

I'm not happy about not having a Blvd. and putting my infant in an infant seat for a few months, but until my 2 yo get to 35 lbs. he wont be in the Frontier....and I know that i will be working with one carseat that i dont "prefer"....but for the cost savings of the Frontier, im ok w/ that.

it just depends on how inconvenient its going to be for you. I don't think i woudl take bloody knuckles for a month just to save $100! lol! So, where does our inconvenience level overcome the cost benefit? :)
