Babyage expiration "advice"

I contacted Babyage because I was considering purchasing a Parkway for my niece. Since I know they are discontinued, I asked what the DOM would be. I was told they were all '07 but then the CS lady stated, "Britax seats expire in 6 years BUT the time doesn't start until the seat is registered/the warranty card is sent in."

I HOPE I misunderstood what she was saying since that theory would let me purchase a seat, store it (or even use it) for X number of years and then sent the registration card in.

Any thoughts on what she might have been trying to say?

Probably she has expiration confused with warranty -- warranty (which isn't six years anyhow) runs from date of purchase, expiration from date of manufacture.

LOL...never heard this one. So I guess buy the seat, wait until 2010 to send the card in, then it wont expire until 2016

I don't think I would take her "advice" on when seats expire. I think Britax would say otherwise if you called them.

FYI, I just bought a Britax Parkway (woodstock) from BabyAge last week. When it came in on Thursday (pretty fast shipping), it had a DOM of 12/6/07.
