I repaired the main computer today. Took me less than 10 minutes. DH had been putting off installing a new fan since last Sept
Anyway, I got picts uploaded finally
I know someone was interested in a rear facing installation of a Radian.
Car: 1996 Jetta Trek edition sedan.
Center rear is lapbelt only. OEM -- TT hook available for ff. But I never hooked it up for these photos for rfing.
Driver's seat -- all the way back and partially leaning (dh is abt 6'4). Passenger seat was moved up about 2 inches. Plenty of legroom left. I doubt the passenger would have been comfortable if the seat was completely installed behind that seat. Center seemed to be the only reasonable spot.
I probably could have pushed down even more on the seats and the Radian more upright, but I would have had to move the driver's seat around and possibly mucked up the pristine interior. The car sold the next day.
Back of radian w. front passenger seats. They look weird due to seat covers.
Now ff'd installed Radian & Regent in 99 Camry. (I had to transport a friend's child, so it's now installed.) Front passenger seat moved up only for ease of installation and photos. It's now back in the furthermost position again.
Honestly, it was a total pain to install next to the Regent. Best way I did it -- twist the female part 3x,
thread 3pt through seat, Buckle up.
Put knee into seat,
tighten down as much as possible,
pull out the end of shoulder belt to kick locking mechanism into gear and then pull constantly to remove any play in belts in seat within and without the Radian.
It's solidly installed now.
(whew! It was utterly exhausting). I dread trying to get my hand in there to unhook the Radian.
There is no earthly way that there is room for a third seat or even person on the other side of the regent unless it's a narrow rfing seat -- a radian WITHOUT a base, perhaps?
