We've been trying to sell our Suburban for a month or so and people keep offering less than dh wanted, so until today it remained unsold. I was chatting with the guy who bought it at the BMV since I had to sign the title too, and I was telling him about tether anchor points since I knew he had at least a 3 mo and a 6 yo (later found out he has 2 more but they're older). Anyway, he's saying that his wife will want the baby in the middle, and the kids always fight over who gets to sit next to her, which is sweet. And that his 6 yo ds tends to get stuck in the back leaning over the seat to look at the baby. Not great obviously but it's possible he could be belted in while leaning forward. . . It wasn't until later that it occurred to me he'd said they had an Explorer, and the reason his wife wanted the 'Burban was for the 3rd row. So for the last 3 months they've been sticking the 6 yo in the back of the Explorer unrestrained! GAHHHH!!!! Thank goodness the poor kid has a seatbelt now!

glad you did too. I will never get that. I know a family that had four kids in a camry for a yr before they got a suburban. I try not to think about how the got from point a to point b. Even 20 something yrs ago my mom made sure we had seatbelts for everyone.

i remember when we were little, i was 9 years old or so, and my older brother never wanted to wear his seatbelt...so one day mom let him go without it for a few minutes & i "tattled" even though she already knew... and my mom did a little "brake check" and he slid off his seat -- she didn't tap them so hard that he got hurt, just slide off his seat (we were in the country, just getting out of the driveway) -- pretty sure he's worn his seatbelt since then! he was just kinda like.. MOM!!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!? and she was just like, well, see? you HAVE to wear your seatbelt!!
