need help: how black plate on back of Britax goes back?

Does anyone have a pic or can explain how that black plate on the back of my RA is supposed to go?
I took it off to replace the cover and then realized there's different sides and I don't know how it goes.
    TIA!

The side with the big flare goes up.

Really, it doesn't matter. The belt guard is just a convenience feature and isn't required. It makes ff seatbelt installations easier and keeps the splitter plate from catching, but the belt path is deep enough that it doesn't make much of a difference.

Thanks but does the flare face into the seat or out?

The flare faces outwards. I think if it faces inwards it might give too little room for the belts and they might snag.
