How do you feel about Regents advertized as a "booster"?

I did a search on eBay today, looking for an extra cover... and noticed a LOT of Regent listings include the word "BOOSTER" in their listing. There were four sellers in particular, that use this word in every listing. I contacted them with a very nice message, just clarifying that this seat is not intended to be used as a booster and to be careful re: misrepresentation, and moreso, out of worry that someone will actually throw one in their car and throw a seatbelt around it. 'Cause we all know, most people don't read the manual.

Chances are, if someone's looking to buy a Regent, they're vaguely familiar with it and this is non-issue. But with booster in the search engine, someone searching for a dedicated booster who comes across this seat... with it's pretty covers and all... see where I'm going with this?

Thoughts?

Well, it is misleading. But if someone was looking for a regular booster and was not familiar with the Regent, I'm thinking they would pass it by anyway because it is much more expensive than a booster.

Also, I've noticed them categorized like this in stores online. For example, they will have the categories: infant seats, convertible seats, and booster seats. The Regent doesn't fit any of these, and maybe that is where people get confused as to what to call it. I have seen it classified as Youth Seat too though, which would be more appropriate.

I agree, it's misleading. And in the eBay world, could be considered misrepresentation. One seller argues this point to the contrary. But if someone buys this seat with intentions of using it as a booster, and it can't be, then the seller would be liable for it being labeled as such, correct?

I would think so yes. But maybe it depends on how their ad is worded, whether they clearly mention that it's a harnessed seat, etc. even though it is titled as a booster.

I see it as a booster frequently. It bothers me less that the Graco SS2 or some of the Combo seats be advertised as convertiable carseats.

I agree it is much better when the Regent is refered to as a youth seat (as well as the SS2 and Combo seats)
