RF in Diplomat vs. SS1

I am interested in the Diplomat because it takes up less room (going in small vehicle), and for the SIP (vehicle doesn't have side air curtain). DD is a half inch from outgrowing her SS1. Would she still be able to RF in the Diplomat? How many inches do you get over the SS1?

DD is 2 yrs old and still has plenty of room in her Diplo. I'm actually going to BRU tonight so I'll try her out in a SS1 to see if she still has room in that.

Keep in mind, the SS1 takes up a lot of room, while the Diplo is a Britax convertible meaning 1: you can brace it 2: you can have it very upright (generally you shouldn't have infant seats as upright as you can get with a convertible, even with an older child)

That would be great if you could check how she fits in the SS1, thanks!

The SS1 currently gets installed in this vehicle without the base, so it isn't too bad for space. We tried an EFTA and it takes up more room than the SS, and leaves the passenger closer to the dash than we'd like. I assume a Boulevard isn't going to fit much better than an EFTA, and thus figured a Diplomat might be the way to go. I wish our ToysRUs carried Britax so I could try them out on my own, but I guess they figure our city is too small. :(
