How to destroy a seat...

This used to be a Century Accel that I picked up off the side of the road (which was actually in amazingly good shape for it being a side of the road special)...

Oh, and I think the reason that it was at the curb was because it was expired!! (All the stickers were peeled off it and it didn't have a LATCH strap, but it was stamped "Do not use after December 2007")

I still want to check into the cost of renting one of those big professional wood chippers to bring to seat checks. Need to destroy a seat? Just chuck that baby in and watch it get turned into confetti!

Raaaaaaaaar!

How bout chain saw daddy:D...I think that's what we'll do.:) They suggest to cut the straps but I just know some idiot will buy new ones and try to reuse it..

Awesome!

I do love the wood-chipper idea, though, that sounds like fun!

I have to say that I'm glad that whoever had the seat had enough sense to actually stop using it when it expired!

I know what you mean, it's sad to say 90% of the public would probably have gave it away or sold it. The person on the other end would think it looks good so it's ok, unless they had been a regular here of coarse..:) Then they might know better that it's not all about looks:cool:;)

If the wood chipper was a regular seat check event, I would think that a number of people would bring crappy old seats JUST to watch them get chucked in the chipper. I mean seriously, watching wanton destruction like that is just FUN! It also might help wake up the Dad's as to car seat expiration. ;) Just think about when they bulldoze the houses before rebuilding them on Extreme Home Makeover...

I've seen checks around here supported by the fire department - at the end of the check they take their Jaws of Life to all the icky seats that were collected.
