Unbuckle seat

I have a 3 year old who loves to unbuckle his seat belt. His harness is still on he unbuckle his seat from the car. The worse part is that a lot of times I do not hear or see him undo the belt. Many times I do not realize he has unbucked the belt until we get to our destination. Is there anything out there to help me? Help

Is his harness tight enough on him (one finger between shoulder strap and collarbone) so that he can't move his arm to get the buckle undone? I'm thinking that if the straps are correctly tightened, he shouldn't have much ability to get the buckle undone.

If the harness is correct, than it sounds like this is something that isn't a hardware issue, but rather a behavior issue. Some gentle explaining and some well laid out guidelines will be the most efficient way.

Wow, what kind of seat is it? I cannot imagine a child whose harness is on correctly possibly being able to reach that far! But, if you search through tese forums you'll notice a few other threads related to this issue - with lots of good behavioral advice ... if you can't find them, let us know. GOOD LUCK

I too can't imagine a snugly harnessed child reaching the seat belt buckle, but you know kids are always coming up with new 'undoable' tricks!
Make sure the harness is snug and explain WHY it is SO important to have the seat bucked in. Maybe show him what could happen to the seat (and him) if it isn't buckled in properly. Lots of praise for NOT undoing the buckle and a few small rewards might do the trick.
