Marathon-Cover Washing

We had a throw up incident in our MA this morning, so I need to wash it.

I need to go check the manual, but I think I remember it saying that it must be hand-washed and than hung dry.

Has anyone Machine-washed theirs? Its just so much throw up and quite a distinctive smell, that I'm not certain hand-washing alone would do the trick. The hang-drying doesn't bother me one bit.

I'd love to hear some first hand experiences. BTW: We have the Ashley Floral cover.

I've always washed my Britax covers on the delicate cycle in the washer

using mild detergent and hung to dry. I personally have had no issues with shrinking or tearing. Good luck--vomit is just so yucky!

My daughter puked & peed in our Wizard when 1st got it (the BLVD, too, LOL) ... I hand washed in a bucket 1st with baking soda, 2nd time with vinegar, then soaked with lemon juice & hung to dry in the sun, then I gave it another rinse with some Tea Tree, Clove, Peppermint & Lavendar pure essential oils (found at our local natural foods cooperative market & also at www.youngliving.com at a much higher price - let me know if you'd like my distributor # for the discounted rate) - Tea Tree is antibacterial/antifungal, Clove is antimicrobial & smells really good, Peppermint soothes tummy aches & Lavendar is relaxing. This worked great for us & actually wasn't much effort - had to obviously do this in the morning so I could get a day's worth of sunlight, though! I'm sure others have different experiences  GOOD LUCK

I've always machine washed mine, as well. The big thing is, you don't want to put them in the drier on high heat.

Wahed my in the machine and hung to dry as well, no problems at all. Had to hand wash the straps and soak the buckle to get all the puke out, but it worked.

Good luck
