Need bigger rear-facing seat, any ideas?

I want to keep my child rear facing longer. She is in a Britax Roundabout but is reaching the height limit of 1 inch above her head. She weighs 27 lbs. and we are in the US. I am looking for one of the newer seats that goes to 35 lbs and is taller but can't seem to find one. I tried what I could find here like the AlphaOmega but it would only add 1/2 inch. I can live with twisty straps but really want a bigger seat. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank-you.

The only 35 pound seats are Cosco

The Alpha Omega may be the tallest. The new Safety 1st Forerunner ( www.bluelight.com/product...tId=783868 ) is also an option that may be a hair taller. The Forerunner is an updated Cosco Triad. Both are similar to the Cosco Touriva, but have a two-piece chest clip (which helps reduce twisty straps) and some other upgrades.

One other thing to note is that at that age and weight, you do not need to have a 45 degree recline. You might try to have your child a little more upright, closer to about 30 degrees or so. That may help the child be seated a little better, giving a bit of extra room at the top. It will also reduce the risk of the child's head extending beyond the top of the seat in a frontal crash. For older babies, less recline is actually a bit safer.
