Can I install 2 car seats in a taxi?

We have an upcoming trip and it would be SO much cheaper and faster to take a taxi to our destination rather than rent a car. BUT...can you usually install car seats in a taxi cab? Do they have the type of seat belts for getting the car seat secure? It will be my husband, myself and our two boys (both FF in roundabout and safe embrace which they will be in on the plane).

Yes, you should be able to install both seats in the taxi. Depending on the vehicle, you may have trouble putting them side-by-side, but I would think that most taxis would be larger vehicles? Anyway, you should be able to put both car seats plus one parent in the back seat and the other parent in the front. Do be aware that most cabbies will start the meter running while you're doing the installation, but FF Roundabout & Safe Embrace should be fairly quick, especially if you've installed them a lot at home.

After I posted, I thought my questions sounded really silly; however, the last time I took a taxi was in Tijuana and there were no seat belts! This trip is in the states so I'm sure they will have seat belts. Thanks for the info.!

You can also request a minivan taxi or a station wagon taxi to fit all of you and your luggage without cramping you guys too much. Have fun on your trip.
