The OFFICIAL Compass True Fit Spoilers & Speculation thread

To keep the forum from being overwhelmed by multiple threads about the True Fit, all further chat on this seat should be confined to this thread. If/when it becomes overwhelmingly long, we'll lock it and start a new one.

As always, much of what is posted here really is just speculation, and even "official" answers straight from the manufacturer are subject to change. It's fun to speculate about what the seat will be and to opine about the features we think the seat will have. However, until the seat actually hits shelves, we really are just guessing about its features. Rumors--even from trusted sources--can be, and often are, totally wrong.

This is because new seats tend to generate a LOT of speculation before they hit the shelves, and those threads can be a bit overwhelming. This way, people can still have fun guessing and sharing the latest tidbits, but it won't take over the forum.

TrueFit ad in parents mag

Has anyone else seen this? It looks really nice, it says on there to keep your kids harnessed as long as possibly and the kids are properly harnessed and the pics are great.

Any mention of an exact release date for the seat in the ad?

I got my parents magazine today and instantly looked up the ad!

I just went to the learning curve site again and there are now 6 covers!

Monet
Sporty Blue
Cappuccino
Casino
Aurora
Misty Morning

check it out! http://www.learningcurve.com/thefirstyears/Travel+Gear/Convertible+Car+Seats/p1

Oh hey, in the ad in parents pagazine it says nothing about it being a compass true fit, it says The first years, and it has the first years logo on the head rest pillow. On the website it shows the compass logo on it.

I could have sworn the last time I checked, the one that is now labeled Misty Morning was labeled Aurora.

I'm not sure how long it can rear face. I think I've heard 35 lbs, but I'm not sure where, and I can't seem to find out again.

I scanned the ad, here it is:

The ad talks about the removal headrest as a feature of the RF position to allow a better fit. But I thought after only 22lbs you have to put the headrest on, regardless on height. So unless you skip the bucket and use this seat from birth you're not likely to get much use of the shorter shell. This bugs me.... I was really hoping for something more like an RA turn RN as your child grows...

I emailed compass and requested some measurements of their true fit. Here is their response.

Hello Melissa,

I apologize for the delay. Here is your requested information.

The lowest and highest harness height: Lowest is 10" and Highest is 17"

The various crotch strap depths: Range from 8", 7", & 6"

The seat depth, back to where knees bend: 12"

Shoulder width at tallest harness height: 12 3/4"

Seat width at hips: 12"

And you said the little pillow on the headrest is removable correct?: Correct

We hope this information is helpful in choosing the correct Car Seat for your precious cargo. Thank you.

Re: True Fit measurements from Compass

Sorry - I forgot to put this in the compass thread - admin please move if you want.

I think I will preorder this rather than a marathon to replace dd1's from the crash - it has more room width wise all around and the crotch strap depths will give her a lot more room.
