What are these for?

I've always wondered what these elastic straps on the Regent cover are for. Any ideas? I don't see anything in the manual but it was too cold to stay outside and read it thoroughly.

TIA!

The elastic is intended as a place to tuck each half of the chest clip to hold the harness off to the sides when kiddo isn't riding in the seat, just to ease getting into the Regent without sitting on top of the harness. It's pretty much the same concept as the velcro used on the harness and cover on Britax convertibles or the Radian.

:yeahthat: I wondered the same thing when I first was the Regent.

Aha!! Thanks so much. I've wondered that for two years now and have missed the velcro from our Roundabouts. Now I can try out these. :)

Thanks Wendy. I think she's pretty cute too. She's a petite little gal just like Piper.

I never use ours, even though I knew what they were for. I never loosen dd's harness much if at all and it won't reach the elastic anyway. Oh well! I do miss the velcro on her MAs.

We don't typically loosen the harness much (especially during the winter when I want to keep the harness at the correct tighteness to ensure that the clothing isn't too thick) so I can never reach the elastic.

My kids think the straps are for holding toys, arkwork, or jewelry. They always seem to find something to put in the straps. I have never used them for holding the harness straps though.

She is adorable and I SO want that cover for my DS Regent! lol

ETA: I have never used those for holding the harness straps either.
