Pet Buckle pics

Well, after more research, and actually seeing one in person, I decided to buy the Pet Buckle. It says it fits 20-100 lbs. I came home and tried it on all the dogs. So here are some pics.

First we have Sadie. She is 19 1/2" tall at the shoulders. A little black lab mix.

This is what bugs me. It twists here. Also, it is hard to keep straight on the shoulders. Maybe just a puppy thing:

Next is Quinn. His shoulders are 24" tall. He is my 10 yr old Rot mix.

The buckle:

Toby is my Doby puppy. He mearsures 23 1/2" tall at the shoulder:

And his friend, Bekah:

Yeah. I have been working on taking Toby to the pet store once a week, to socialize him. We were at PetSmart and they said they would clip his toenails for free. We did that and they put the bandana on him. Bekah likes "reading" he to him. This is the first time she has been FFing in my car! She is 34 1/2lbs now. :(

Wow, Bekah has gotten BIG since I saw her last! I guess almost a year will do that to a kid. :p

Thanks for sharing the Pet Buckle pics, I've never paid attention to them in the past. Pretty cool! I think I need to find out if my mom's dogs ever ride in anything other than the bed of the truck. If so, they need some Pet Buckles!

Yeah. We were hoping to RF longer, but I guess 3 yrs 4 months is good. She was a little uncertain about FFing. Toby didn't like it either. I don't think he likes the MA at all, to high.

Yes, I think 3y4mo is great! H would have been to heavy to RF in a MA by 2y2mo. Too bad I turned her FF at 13 months (12 months adjusted age, since she was 5 weeks early).

Poor puppy, intimidated by the big MA. :p Maybe the Radian wouldn't freak him out so much, since it sits lower?

He likes to Radian RFing. Haven't installed it FFing yet. I like he will like it.

Thanks for the pics. I really need to get a couple for our Rottie and Cattle Dog. Looks like it should fit them both well. Do you mind me asking how much and where did you get it?

I paid $26 at PetSmart. I kept looking through the leash/harness area, and coulded find them. They are back near the food, odd. My old dog is a Rott mix and it fit him fine. I am happy that the straps do not come up high near the neck, nor do they hit soft tissue. It hits ribs, not tummy. Walmart has one. It is a figure 8, with one adjustment that looks like a tether adjuster. I didn't try it on, but it looked nice. It was $20.

My terrier is 17# and I bought the small dog version for her. It twisted terribly when she treid to get comfortable , freaking her out. It also really pulled in her armpits. Thanks for the pics.

OMG! Is the dobie "puppy" the same lil guy that was sleeping in the Radian just a few months ago?

Great pics!

No, I think that was Sadie. But they were the same size of the longest time, then Tobie grew. Here is a pic of Tobie in his favorite spot:

And his other favorite spot:

Bumping up to say those pictures are adorable!

Too bad that harness doesn't have a little padding in the middle. It sure looks sturdy!

OMG, what a cute dog! I don't know how I missed this thread the first time around.

We have a Pet Buckle, too, and we also have the problem of it slipping off her shoulders. But at 5 pounds, I guess that's bound to happen. Does yours fit better now that your dog is bigger?

That's mine in the siggy. Once she got into DS's Regent I decided that the optional LATCH strap was too long for her safety. So we just use the seatbelt now.

Judi or anyone that can answer. We adopted a Shihpoo a month ago. She weighs appx 3.5lbs right now at 4mths. I noticed the Pet Buckle will fit her now based on chest circumference as I just measured her at 10". She has been riding in her pet taxi in the floor board. Does it fit good on small dogs?

Her vet thinks she won't get to be more then 7-10lbs tops. I also like that I can use a LATCH connector or the seatbelt.

Well, like I said, my dog is about 5 lbs, and the shoulders tend to slip down on her. Not horribly, but it sometimes becomes a problem. I'm pretty sure I have it adjusted as small as I can get it. For a 3.5-lb dog, it would probably be too big, but once your pup gets bigger, it would probably be fine.

I'd skip the LATCH connector if I were you. It's an extra strap that you buy separately, and while it probably makes sense for a large dog, it's ridiculous for my small one. As you can see, she had plenty of room to roam from her seating position into my DS's Regent. If we were to get in a crash, she'd be a dog on a rope--she would go flying. Now I just thread the seatbelt through the loop on the harness (and usually lock it). She still has a little room to move, but it keeps her where she needs to be.

Are these safer than a harness and a buckle?
We just a got our dog a few weeks ago, a sheba Inu, and he came with a harness and this leash like thing that snaps into the belt buckle? I assume they don't crash test these things :) and it is just to keep the dog from becoming a projectile.
