Nautilus on a plane -- with pics!

Hi, not the OP, but I flew with my twins and their GNs a few months ago. I didn't need to flip the buckle or get an extender. The only "problem" I had was the same as the OP, the car seat is just a smidge too wide to put both armrests down around it.

I got the Traveling Toddler strap things to transport the car seats through the airport. Though somewhat expensive for what they are, they were a godsend.

I also bought the Traveling Toddler. I think it's going to work very well. I'll have to look up how to hook up the car seat with a regular seat belt. We've only had to use it with the latch system. I'm sure it won't be a problem. Thanks for the well wishes.

When we tried to use our Nautilus on our flight out of DIA in Denver it wouldn't fit under the ex-ray machine so we had to check it. How did you get it through security to get it to the plane?

I've flown with it too and the same thing happened. It was on a GoGoKidz so we just wheeled it through the regular xray machine and they checked it with a wand and did some kind of exposives test. No problem in San Francisco or Los Angeles.

We ran into the same problem when we flew last year, both at MSP and JFK. At MSP, we tried to fit it in, turning it different ways, etc. They said they would need to hand screen it, similar to what BabyKaykes experienced. At JFK, I told them that it probably wouldn't fit and they just took it and hand checked it. One of the airports asked me if it came apart at all and I just told them I didn't know -- I think it was MSP at 4:30 in the morning -- I wasn't exactly awake enough to figure out how to take it apart.

I'd have just said no. Take the Nautilus apart in the airport?! No way!
