2003 Ford 350 extended cab? and where the heck is the teather??
This is DH new work truck, I would like to have the option to put a car seat in it for my DD. So he can take her sometimes when I have DS.

Which carseats?

No lower anchors in this vehicle as it's exempt due to it's weight class. So, it'll need to be a seatbelt install.

The tether anchors are loops of fabric on the back seat/wall. The tether strap gets routed *through* the anchor directly behind the carseat and over to the adjacent tether anchor where it gets hooked to.

well for right now it's DD Generations seat (I'm waiting to see the nautilus before I decide on that one or the radian). why is exempt due to weight? Isaw the fabric loops in the manual and thought that can't be right! weird

It puts it into the next higher weight class over a passenger vehicle. Only passenger vehicles are required to follow CMVSS rules... so they're not required to put UAS/LATCH or top tethers in the vehicle.

the F-350, in fact all 1ton trucks, are exempt from having mandatory lower anchors, they still have to have the tethers, but no lower anchors, which is really annoying. (we have an 06 crew cab)
