I think I might regret getting the Recaro Young Sport

Ds was 31lbs at his 3yr well visit and at 3yrs 8mos he was 33lbs with his shoes on. I thought I would be safe getting the RYS and using the harness until at least 5. It's a secondary seat so I figured by then I would be comfortable using it as a booster occasionally. Well tonight I weighed him without shoes and he's 35.4 lbs. I'm pretty sure he'll make it through the summer since he'll be wearing lighter clothes and flip flops but I think by winter he'll be too heavy for the harness.

I can't believe my tiny 5lb 6oz, 36 week baby is getting so big.

I love it, but I am about to retire it. Charlie is almost too big for it :(. He fits fine now, but he won't once I move the harness slots up (he is dead even with the second). The harness is soooo short, that right now I have *barely* three inches left in it, and once it's moved up another 2 inches, I won't have anything. Great seat, but meant for string beans. I do love it, though...

Oh, that stinks! We're loving ours- but our kiddos are all super skinny and shorter than average.

Splash, the harness is really short. Even with my small DS, there isn't nearly as much harness webbing left to adjust as in all other seats. I wonder why they made it so short?

Ds is on the top slots and the harness is long enough but not nearly as long as other seats.

I do love the seat. I'm hoping this was just a major growth spurt and maybe his weight will hold steady for awhile. At least now dh has a car with locking seatbelts and the YS will make a good booster.
