We went to a party yesterday for one of J's school friends. I've talked with these moms a few times now, and the conversation finally came around to carseats. One of the moms asked (there was a group of about 5 of us talking) what type of seat do their kids ride in (they are 3 1/2 to 4yo). I waited to answer because I wanted to see what the other parents said first. They all said boosters, except the one who started the conversation.
She said, oh I still have the carseat; I guess she is old enough I should get a booster seat too. So I said J is in a harnessed seat too, and that as long as he is within the size limits, I see no need to move him. I asked her what type of seat she had and child's weight, and she has a Marathon and the girl is 33 lbs. and tiny. She had asked the other moms if the boosters are easier and they said yes. I told her it is safest to keep her in the seat she has as long as she fits properly. I didn't want to say too much to avoid sounding pushy (and I'm not a tech), but maybe I could just set a good CPS example while we're at these parties! I was glad the topic came up though.
