So the 35 lb weight limit on page 26 of the online manual is a typo.
My email to Russ
Hi Russ,
I need to know why there are 3 different manuals that say 3 different things about Safe Stop use.
I have a RN 65 with a DOM of 3/07 and my manual clearly states under 40 lbs the Safe Stop must be used. It also says this on the actual Safe Stop. Yet when i read the manual online pg 26 clearly states under 35 lbs it must be used. Yet on pages 20,22,and 24 of the same online manual it states under 40 lbs it must be used. Now back in November tha manual said under 40 lbs for Safe Stop use on all pages refering to the Safe Stop. Now I also find out someone has a manual that states under 48 lbs ,plus 2 more that say under 40 lbs.
So if SKJP changing the requirements for using the Safe Stop? If so don't you think consumers as well as techs like myelf should be informed of the change? I think an advisory shoul be isuued if SKJP is going to make a change. Or is this just a typo in the manual?
Your reply is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely
Lisa

This is that another tech was told by SKJP customer service when they called: "You are correct. We have recently made a few changes to Radian’s manual and stickers (the seat itself has not changed at all). So, during this transition, some seats will still have the previous manual.
SafeStop to 35 lbs is fine.
Typo on the online manuals on pgs 20,22 and 24."
Is this true?

Lisa,
Yes, this is true – typo and we are fixing it now! Someone just pointed this out yesterday. I am still trying to asses whether it is a proof-reading error or a file corruption issue when it got handed-off to the printer. But regardless, it’s being fixed.
Yes we have made some adjustments to Radian manuals as we have progressed, based on feedback from CPS Techs and consumers (like the RF increase to 35 lbs). I think your suggestion is good that in the future as changes or updates occur, that we find a way to effectively communicate this to the CPS community. Any suggestions on your part would be greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
Russ
