    Successful Three Across thread

Since doing 3 across seems to be a common question lately I thought I would start a thread about it.

Please post here if you have been able to successfully do 3 carseats across.

Let us know the vehicle make and year, how the carseats are installed (ie. seatbelt (and what kind) or LATCH), which way the seats are facing in the configuration (rf or ff), which seats you used and if you are not a tech if they have been checked.

If you have a picture that you would like to include that would be great, if not it's not a big deal

*Lets keep this an informative thread, if you have a question please start a new thread*

    Re: Successful Three Across thread

I added 2 more 3-across situations in my stupid narrow backseat.

07 kia optima ( hyundai sonata clone)

vision used as booster, AOE used as booster, eddie bauer infant bucket.

    also

vision used as booster, RFing titan, eddie bauer infant bucket.

Seat belt install on the bucket both times, seatbelt for the RF titan.

Boosters were nearly impossible to buckle, needed both adults wedging in there and swearing to get them buckled.
I woudl not recommend the first scenario except in an emergency.
the second scenario, wasn't that bad, but still a pain. I would *choose* to do it only as long as it took me to save up for a radian.

5 seats in 1 2002 Grand Caravan (Quad Seating)
    DRIVER Passenger
    SS1 APEX65
    RFScenera, ff scenera highrise

Had some issues with getting everything in, as I wanted to put the apex on the back bench, but its too bloody wide to do anything with there. would be great if i was using the outboard position, and nothing in the middle, but alas, its in the front.
Had to move the SS1 behind me because it caused too much of a blind spot when doing shoulder checks on the passenger side.
SS1's seat head rest is removed to accomodate the RF scenera. lots of clearance this way. FF scenera is installed lap only, and had to put a locking clip on it because the cinching latchplate wasn't holding true.

2007 sienna, third row: vivo, rfing radian, turbobooster.
The turbobooster is very difficult to buckle, but can be done. A better fit is:
vivo, rfing radian, fisher price booster on less than the widest setting.

    07 Lexus GX 470
Seats passenger side to driver's side: Britax Boulevard, RFing; Peg Perego 30/30 SIP; Peg Perego 30/30 SIP. All seatbelt installs, Boulevard with the lockoff, Pegs with locking clips. Supremely difficult but worked. Pegs juuust had room to click into their bases, all were independently tight.

I am a tech. It was very difficult but we did it (and dad was last person to install the seats.)

    2003 Saturn L200
    Driver to passenger side:
TurboBooster (with back), Radian 80 (FF), Complete Air (RF)
All seatbelt installs (switched retractors for installed seats), Radian with tether.
Radian: 1.5 twists of seatbelt, no recline. CA: about 32 degree angle. Front seat barely useable; booster hard to buckle, and Radian was hard to put in due to seatbelt's position over crack in seat leading to difficulty feeding slack into the retractor. But it works.

Usually its dds friends in that row in the boosters and they LOVE to play with one of my boys Dd thinks she is queen in 2nd row bucket with other brother!
