Height limit on Britax Marathon

I currently have my DD (20 months, about 22lbs, around 33") rfing in her Marathon. I was cleaning it the other day and was looking at the sticker on it and noticed that it said the height limit for rfing was 29"! Should I really have her ffing even though she is way below the weight limit for rfing? She's only on the first slots for the shoulder harness (short torso, big head!).

Thanks!

Lisa =)

P.S. It's a Canadian certified Marathon, not sure if the limits are different for the US version.

Height guidelines aren't as set as weight limits. I beleive for RF you have until her head is even with the top of the shell.

BTW: DD turned FF at 2 years, 9 months and 32lbs and 35 1/4 in. She has a very long torso and short legs and had more than an inch until she reached the top of the shell.

Canadian models should be listed with 32" for RF...is that 29" possibly the minimum for FF?

Yes, 29" would be listed as the minimum for ff'ing.

Height limits are only guidelines. Unfortunately, CDN seats are very conservative when they put height limits on their seats for use in rf'ing mode. Since every child is proportioned differently, there is truly no way to know at what height a child will outgrow the seat.

Your dd has loads of room above her head still, and is well within the weight range to rf, so she is 100% safe to remain rf'ing in the seat. When she reaches the weight limit or has less than 1" of hard shell above her head, then she needs to be turned ff'ing, in the meantime, she's fine like she is.

Good for you for keeping your dd rf'ing past the minimums. :D

Perhaps we should tell all the manufactures that still put 32" max rf height limit that the new EFTA has no such limit. Push them to remove the ridiculously low 32" limit.
