EZ-On Tether Anchors

I just called EZ-OnPro about ordering their tether anchor kit to install in my van, provided there is a solid sheet of metal in my van floor, which I am assuming (hoping) there is.

Anyway, she said that these TA's are not to be used with carseats and that they are only made to be used with their vests or harnesses.

Is this true? I don't see how they would be different from other TA's that are installed like in older vehicles.

Is it worth ordering them or are they going to be unsafe to tether a carseat to?

Thanks.

You would think thye would be fine for car seats too. Afterall it is a heavy duty TA right?

I would ask to speak with a supervisor -- maybe they've changes things, but a couple years ago the same TAs were not intended for strict use only with their vests: they encouraged using their TAs for my Husky since theirs are tested to higher weights than the vehicle TAs :twocents:

Ok, so now I am told that "Yes indeed it can be used with a carseat. It can be installed in your vehicle as per directions and will be safe for a child within the weight range 20-168#s."

I am now looking into the price and hope to have one ordered today. I am heading to the mechanics before karate to make sure that there is a solid place to anchor it.

And then I am going to save money weekly and hope to have enough to buy a regent by the Feb sale. I am almost 1/2 way there. If I can't get enough, I'll get a nautilus.

My 7 yo will likely complain but I have warned him over and over that he will get 'buckles' if he can't sit straight and he doesn't. I can't remember the last ride that he didn't need reminding.

So then the regent will be handed down to my now 3.5 yo when her marathon expires or she outgrows it.

And thanks to Stretchy Glue I am getting a husky. So all my children will be harnessed once again:D

Thanks:love: I am not sure what dh will say. He already vetoed my idea when I brought it up. But he sees how they sit or don't. Since I'll be getting a good deal considering the husky, and the regent can be handed down...I can justify anything:rolleyes: He's just tired of me spending money on seats. I don't feel like I do though, I just talk about it all the time:whistle:

HEy if i can justify buying a Regent and DD is only about 22 lbs you can certianly justify a Regent purchase for a older child who does not understand they must sit properly
