coats for cold climates

I ordered this jacket and these pants for my 3 year old to wear in his car seat. I know it's hard to tell from the tiny pictures on the website but do you think they're ok to use in the car? I haven't got them yet so I can't say how thick they are. I do warm up my car before we get in and use blankets, but Ki still whines about being cold when I put him in the carseat with just jeans and his regular fleece jacket. The windproof would definitely be a plus for going to/from the car... we get some nasty wind. So what do you guys think?

It's hard to tell but they look okay from what I can see.

Here is another thread about safely wearing jackets in cold weather and really we are talking pretty cold.

Well I was going to try the trick from the other thread but Ki wouldn't let me put his arms through the straps without taking his winter coat off first. Told me "It's not safe mom!"

At least I know he's more concerned with being safe than warm. :thumbsup:

Ds did that at first but we have had some really cold weather (-29.4F) where the car isn't particularily warm so I have now convinced him to let me do this . . . in fact I can do up his seat without having to loosening the straps while he is in his jacket. It is just easier to buckle him if I unzip and rezip it though.
