more True fit pics

I'm really liking the true fit I'm 90% sure I'll be ordering one. But I kept trying to figure out what the seat looked like with out the inserts. So I googled and came accross a few pics, that showed the seat without the inserts, without the headrest and also installed rearfacing without the headrest, thought I would share them with you.

I think these are pre-production photos of the prototype, IIRC...

ETA: I hope it's a good seat b/c we're going to order one for DS. I like that fact that it doesn't have a base... :thumbsup:

Gosh, installed RF without the headrest it looks an awful lot like the Crappysport...

That's what I was thinking too. It looks really small in the picture of it installed without the headrest! How does that work...you don't have to use the headrest unless needed or can you NOT use it rear-facing at all?

Headrest is optional rf'ing until baby reaches 20? (or is it 22?)lbs, then the headrest must be used after that. I believe it's mandatory at all times for ff'ing.

It basically allows parents to have a full size convertible like a Britax, but to be able to fit it into a car at a newborn recline without hogging too much space... by the time most babies weigh 20lbs, they're ready to be slightly more upright so the extra height of the headrest wouldn't be as big a deal.

I sort of reminds me of my FPSE. It has a similar squareish shell and sits nice and low in the seat. It looks like it will be nice for little ones.

LOL...ignore the hole in the wall of my DS's room....he hit the wall with his elbow when he was wrestling and we haven't fixed it yet...

Sure looks like it, doesn't it? But I do recall seeing these pics somewhere with the disclaimer that those were not the actual seatcovers since production hadn't started. Here's what that color looks like on Goore's - doesn't look like they kept the leather:

It looks like the front harness adjuster is going to be hard to access while RF.

The harness adjuster looks really low--could be hard to reach when RFing. While I like all the options, I wonder if the removable parts and options will lead to greater misuse.

Ha, those pictures brought back memories. I had that same seat for dd1. It got good scores from CR, and I found it on clearance for $40 at Walmart. I thought I had scored big time. I hated that seat though, lol.

It almost looks like the seat can be braced. That'd be nice, especially for the smaller cars or taller parents.

Those hip straps, though, they are awfully close to the body! For a seat designed to 18" torsos and/or 65 pounds, I can't see that being comfortable, even for the petite kids.

Thanks for the pics! I might not go for the seat afterall. I need to use it RF, and it looks like it will be too hard to adjust.

I think I'll go for the EFTA.

Pushed up against the front seatbacks (IF the car allows it, too, newer cars don't, pressing on the seatback messes up the airbag sensors)

As an owner of two Compass infant seats, I can tell you that RF adjustments are really simple. Everything about those Compass seats are really simple. I'm hoping that they carry that simplicity over to the new True Fit convertibles.

And just to add to this, if those are pre-production photos, it's possible the adjuster was moved prior to the final seat release.
