Crotch buckle on SS1...

Hmmm. So we bought the SS1 in Eclipse and we love it (haven't used it yet, though). But the crotch buckle release seems extremely hard to push down. It takes two hands for me...! And I'm fairly strong. It's one that you push down, not in - does that make sense?

So are all SS1's like this, or is something wrong with this one? I noticed they changed the color of the foot from red to gray/silver to match the base - could they have made a change to the buckle?

Thanks for any help!

We have a SS1...I think DOM 8/2006. I have never had to use two hands to unbuckle the crotch strap. I don't remember it being tight when we got it. Maybe you could exchange it?

I don't usually have any trouble with it, and can do it with one hand usually. There have been a few times though that it has been tight, and I've needed two hands.

I don't think it should be like that all the time though. Usually I just push down with one hand and the buckles sort of spring up and out.

I never had any problems with ours. I would hold the buckle with one hand and use my thumb to push down towards my fingers and it'd come open. Maybe call Graco tomorrow if they're open and see what they say? I love-love-love the buckle release on our SS1. :)
