Certification Q? & something else....

1. I was just wondering how one becomes a certified tech? I really would like to, but the last time I saw anything about it it seemed I'd have to drive 2 hours for short classes over a many-day time period.... Also, does it cost a lot of money? Who might I contact???

2. Our more commonly read local newspaper did not announce the new booster law & I see a half dozen kids not in boosters who should be -- during my lunch break alone! So, I'd like to write a letter to hopefully be printed in the oppinion page -- I'd like some statistics & sources to include, comparing the increase in safety for kids in boosters vs. kids without....

THANKS

I know www.safekids.org list all the tech classes. That would be your best best to look. The classes are 8hrs long for 4 days or at least that is how my class was set up.

There is a cost but it depends on who is doing the class. I took mine through Sit Safe which is the VW/Audi car seat program. They allow 8 community spots as they call it where they pick up the tab and all I had to pay for was my paperwork which was $60.

Thanks! I couldn't remember where I'd seen that info.... That time & cost doesn't seem too bad -- no worse than getting certified to foster parent, anyway  I'll do one at a time, though
