Question about Apex

I was considering getting one as a spare for FIL truck or to install in my van and use our Radian as a spare, but I just had a thought about the headrest thing...

I haven't been able to install any carseat or HBB in my '02 Dodge caravan without removing the headrest. Since the Apex requires a headrest, do you think I'll be able to use it?

I doubt it... the headrest will push the seat too far forward to get a proper install. :(

I used to have an '03 and know exactly what you are talking about regarding the headrests... they come off for pretty much every single install I do. :rolleyes:

When I tried the apex out, I could get it installed quite well with the headrest still on BUT it pushed the headrest of the Apex forward and it looked uncomfortable and my son hated it.

Hmmmm. I know I've had the Apex installed in my front bench and it was o.k. Can you turn your headrests around?

I can turn them around, but then they are not locked in there ( I can just pull them out without pressing the release button on the side)...I would be worried they would fall out in a rollover and be a pretty wicked projectile.

I guess I'll have to figure out something else for an extra seat :(
