grr, friend's carseat

i was talking with my one friend today, she has a really old (12yrs) OHS seat, i told her that not only was it illegal, but unsafe to use, and she''s like, 'i'm not worried, my DD has 2 guardian angels" no wonder, with parents that care that much, she needs them.

So sad! I don't understand why people don't want to keep their children as safe as possible.

Is that what she's planning to tell a police officer if they try to ticket her for improper retraint?

I think some people are more afraid of the legal consequences than the consequences of an accident.

Ok, they need to name a carseat

"THE Guardian Angel Seat" with a slogan: Accept no other form of Angel for your little one in the car.

:ROTFLMAO: I love it!

We should be moving into a STEP (selective traffic enforcement program) period for car seat safety here right away if we're not already in it. Maybe hope she ends up going through one of those stops.

{{{hugs}}} It's hard to see such blatant lack of caring and not be able to do anything about it.

Can I just say that I love Click It or Ticket? Whenever they see kids in the car here they look in the back for legal safety restraint use -- Leila blabbed on & on to the officer about how safe she is

Oh the comebacks I could have to that --

Are they full or part-time?

Dedicated to only YOUR child or also other people's?

Guardian Angels help those who help themselves.

Angels are spiritual, not substantual. Their bodies aren't an automated force field.

Physics and Faith have little to do with one another.

Gravity sucks, Angels soar to heaven directing spirits to God.

Wouldn't you want your child to remain on Earth instead of becoming a little angel herself?

gaaack! Her comment just infuriates me. Too bad her child can't speak for herself.

My future children will have their big brother watching over them...along with great-grand parents, aunts, and uncles....and you think I'm not putting them in the safest carseat I can?

Yeah...my children will RF to the limits(I'm really hoping that 40 pound seat comes out soon!), be harnessed to the limit and be in boosters until they properly fit in the adult seat belt...even with their big brother watching over them.

Exactly! My dd has her father, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, etc., all watching over her. And there's no way in hell she's not riding correctly in a car seat! Geesh... I just don't get some people...

I actually tried this, I got a few people willing to go in with me to buy a carseat for her 1st b-day, and they absolutely would not take it.
Seats are more expensive in Canada, and we really don't have the money to just buy one for someone else.

A funeral's more expensive than a car seat.

I honestly believe that people who've never had anything bad happen to them or to someone they've deeply loved will remain blissfully ignorant until something does. As unfortunate as that is.
