Hmm, Should I go for it? Recaro Vivo on sale

Black Friday tomorrow, Aafes.com online has 20% off one time purchase with the military star card. (10% 0ff without.)

AAFES.com carries the Recaro Vivo for $94.95 regular price (no tax or shipping + easy return to base B&M store if necessary).

With dd now at 4, years, 42 1/2", 40lbs and we're going to be traveling during the next 2 years, should I go ahead and get it for the $80 or so sale purchase price? Is it good for 6 years too or longer? Does anyone have experience with this new seat? She's a narrow child, so I tend to think she'd be lost in the Compass booster for a long time.

Questions, questions, questions. Anyone have any answers? ;)

Thanks for the link. :)
I"m all searched out after this morning's panic.

Basically a hard & barely padded shell. DD loves her comfort, so I guess I'll forget about it for now. :shrug-shoulders:

My DD thinks our Vivo is more comfortable than our Parkway. I noticed that it doesn't have back padding other than the thick cover, but she didn't. She looks more comfortable in it. It's really a great seat.

My VERY skinny (41lb) 7.5yo think the Vivo Lite is more comfy than the Parkway and the FPSV Booster. She does wish that the seat was deeper, but says it's a very comfortable seat (main seat is the Regent). I wouldn't describe it as a "plastic box" or "hard unpadded shell" at all.

All very helpful to know :)

I'll probably try it out eventually for dd, but right now, budget's too tight and there's not a real valid reason to purchase it anyway :shrug-shoulders: Between the Radian and Regent, she's good for at least another year without a booster.

When dh leaves, the Radian will be an 'extra' seat without a car anyway ... so I shouldn't. Even though I really wanna. (need a kicking & screaming tantrum emoticon here :p )

My seven year old was complaining about how hard other boosters were, we went to the store and had him sit in them all. He liked the Vivo best and says it doesnt hurt even though it doesnt appear to have much padding.

Just for reference's sake, I think the booster morganthe is most familiar with is the Recaro Start, which is a supportive, spring filled, upholstery grade seat :). Anything seems like a cover covered plastic box after that, lol :) (not uncomfortable, just not 'special')

rofl -- and dd HATED it. Probably because it wasn't Pink  Probably if she was older, I would have been able to adapt to it. But it's a good thing I sold it since dh's car will likely be the first with a booster full time in it. He'll probably have a German specs car without a TT. I feel so free without that worry any longer

I've been considering next Sept & Black Friday sales too. They're a regular thing with aafes. There will probably be more choices with boosters anyway.

Last year, I ended up with a 7 cu ft Kenmore chest freezer for about $70 by the time I got all sorts of discounts and return credit on other stuff. I think the original price was about $200. It's going into long-term storage when we depart. I can't beat the price.
