I was playing with DS1's radian, as I needed to move the crotch strap forward, and it was out of the truck, I put his little 6wk old brother in it, he's 9-10lbs, here are some pics

Can I just say that that's about the cutest little model I've seen! I remember when my two boys had that baby fine hair that stood up like that!

Too adorable!!!

Check out that hair! Too cute!

Oh, the seat? Looks fine to me. Just like my own 6 wk old fit in our RN...it's a great seat for wee ones.

well that answers that question. my baby was 10lbs at birth and for the next one we were thinking of just going straight to a convertible. is that a big no no around here?

Nope, not a no-no as long as the convertible is a good fit for the wee one, like the spikey haired cutie in the OP. :) The Radian in the OP is an example of a convertible with fairly low bottom shoulder harness slots to properly position the harness straps at or below the baby's shoulders for rear facing.

thanks jeanum. i just hated dragging the bucket seat everywhere. i kind of always felt like car seats were for cars, kwim? i always too him out of the bucket and wore him in a sling anyways...so might was well just have a convertible.

we'll have to keep that in mind.
