Pics and thoughts of the Evenflo TA

Long story short, we had to take our second car (a small 93 2-door Escort hatchback) to get a tire fixed and I didn't want DS1 in the booster, so I grabbed DS2's TA to try it out. Our MA is now DS2's seat in the escort, FF sadly b/c I cannot for the life of me get either lock-off to close for RF.

So, my DS1 is 4.5 yo, 42 pounds, and 43" and has an extremely long torso (last I checked months ago, it was 16"). He is right at the top slot area for the TA with a smidge left to go before being too tall. He likes the seat and said it was comfy and then also asked if he could RF. I thought it was cute!

I have included a pic of DS1 next to DS2 to compare how much the MA reclines back. We will probably be getting rid of the MA because as DS2 gets older, he is not going to want to be reclined so much.

Anyways, enough of the rambling...here are the pics. :D

Just looking at the pictures, I would have never guessed that your ds was 4 1/2! My dd is also 4 1/2 and the same size as your ds, but does not nearly look so tall in the TA!

OMG! your daughter looks so much like my niece, her hair and smile are so much the same, my niece is 4.5 as well!

The we boy looks much older than 4.5 I thought he was 5-6!

:jaw: WOW! I knew DS1 was long-torsoed, but wow! I could only wish he had that long in a TA!

Your DD is a cutie, BTW!

Thank you! (That is her picture pose LOL)

Her torso is 15", so on the taller side. I wouldn't have thought that one inch would look so different! :)

Wow - he does look SO big in that seat.

I'm surprised by how much recline you have on the MA - ours are nowhere near reclined like that.
Do you have it in mechanical recline?

In a car, my marathons were always reclined for some reason but not in capts chairs or van/suv bench seats.

Nope. It's in the upright mode. The car's seat back is straight up and the bench part is flat. So I had to pull the base out some because otherwise it would've been lifted up. So now the base of the MA is flat on the seat. It is very reclined! My DS1 still fits in the MA in our living room, but when it's installed in this car he is about 3/4" - 1" *above* the top slots!

Thats great! He is so cute!
My son sat in his evenflo triumph until 4 years 5 months and he still fit when we got the Radian but I wanted the Radian so bad so he swapped over to it when we got it. Gosh this seems so long ago.:(

Is that a Safe-n-Sound seat? With a chest clip on it?

Here's my son in the TA. He's 5.5 years old, 45lbs and about 46" with a 16.5 torso.

Wow, so he does have about 1/2" of torso growth room left then hey, so the top harness height in use should actually be the full 17"? Looks like the 50lb weight limit will be plenty for the vast majority of kids too and will get many of them to booster age.

Oh yes! it fit him really well and I LOVE the way the harness adjusts! The seat even has plenty of depth to it for long legged kiddos. No worries about dangling feet falling asleep.
