Flying with 21 month old - updated ?

This is a continuation of my other post - I decided I'm going to fly with my mother and stay for 9 days. At least that solves my flying alone problem. I booked a seat for my son so I will be bringing his Boulevard with me. I'm also going to bring my stroller (Maclaren Triumph - unless I get a Joovy Groove before that

) So should I get some type of carrier for my car seat so I can tote it thru the airport? I think I'm going to check all my bags. I'll use my stroller to get my son thru the airport. What do you think? Do you have any recommendations?

I think one of those back pack type carries for carseats I am planning on using a wheeled luggage cart (about $20 at Walmart)

We have just used a simple folding luggage cart to hold our carseat. We use bungee cords to hold the carseat in place. It also allows us to place our carry-on items in the seat portion of the carseat.

We just flew and DH carried the BV through the airport while I pushed the stroller and had the carry on (it was a small airport). If you are going to do it alone on the way back or if your Mom can't carry the BV (or push the stroller) then I would get a carseat backpack.

When we flew with a BLVD and a Wizard this summer, we used Pac Backs for the seats. Here's a link:
