As some of you might remember I'd emailed with Evenflo when the Triumph Advance was first released in the US and asked if it'd be released in Canada and was told no, no plans at present and it'll be at least a year if we do.

Well, being the impatient person that I am, ;) I emailed them again last Friday and got a response today:

Hi Trudy,

Thank you for your inquiry regarding the Evenflo Triumph Advance car seat. At this time the Advance is planned for shipment to Canada in early 2008. Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Thank you for contacting Evenflo Parentlink. I appreciate the time taken to email us.

:cool!: How exciting. I didn't ask what the limits will be, I'm guessing we'll still be stuck with 30lbs rf'ing still, but it's coming, and sooner than we thought might be possible. :D

oh, that is exciting! I wonder how soon they will appear  I can't wait :D

Me either. :D

So, how soon do you think I need to start convincing dh we need another seat. :p

(But really, if I'd known this seat would become available I would've tried to wait for it & not bought the Radian.)

I have a friend who tried to get the Radian at CT but got a rain check for it. I'm thinking the ETA might work better for them as they don't have locking seatbels - 1992 honda civic. So which one do you think would be easier to install there? I'm thinking the ETA plus I think it might be easier to always have the harness staps where they need to be.

My guess would be the triumph advance. With not being as low a profile I would think it'd be easier to position the locking clip without having to end up taking it all the way into the belt path.

How long until she needs it though? Seats often take longer when estimated, so if she ends up needing a seat sooner, than she'll have to find another solution still.

Oh dear so many HWH..must resist buying them all.

Hmm I guess it would be a great excuse to get rid of my Touriva and replace it with the ETA...must look into the spec's now if its coming our way.

It's a wide seat, US limits are 35lbs rf'ing and 50lbs ff'ing, so I expect ours to be 30lbs rf'ing and 50lbs ff'ing. It has the infinite adjust front adjust harness with a top height of @ 17". :)

YAY!!!!!! :D

Another option to suggest, that's affordable! I love it when the list gets longer... up until this seat, there were really only two seats I like to recommend. You know which ones I'm talking about. ;)

I second the Keyfit30... I really want to see that seat up here!

1. Do you have any idea as to what the price will be? A cheap US may not mean cheap Canadian.

2. Why is it so much better than the Radian? I have a few months till DC #3 will come, and then the snugride, so I have some time until I'll need a third car seat.

3. I have now a Radian (CT sale!), Scenera (and soon the snugride will be in use once again). Would the Radian and 2 ETA fit together, or are they very wide seats.

From what age does the seat fit right?

1. They are around $130 in the US, so should easily be under $200 here... I'm guessing 170 ish.

2. It's not so much better than the Radian. It is another high weight harness seat that fits small babies and kids up to age 5 or 6 with it's nice tall top harness setting. It's missing the rearfacing tether option that I love, but otherwise is a really nice seat. Both seats have their niche that they fit into... it really depends on the child, vehicle and situation as to which is the better seat.

3. Depends on what vehicle you are putting the seat into. If you've ever seen a Triumph (the regular one here in Canada), the Advance is the same width... it just has a taller shell.

4. I think a newborn would fit pretty well in the Triumph.
