5.5 year old almost outgrown Chicco Nextfit
I don't know whether to size up to a taller combo seat, or just go straight to a booster. I measure her torso at about 17". I'm not confident in her ability to safely ride in a booster 100% of the time.

Re: 5.5 year old almost outgrown Chicco Nextfit
Hi! If you're not confident she can stay still that's your answer. At 17" you can likely get to 7 years when almost all kids are booster ready in a Graco Nautilus or Atlas or other seat with 18.5" top slots (or Evenflo SureRide at 19".) But if you want to go for extra height just in case, the Chicco MyFit is 19.5" or the Britax Grow With You is 20.5". Most kids that age will get about a year of growth per inch of harness height. (That may not be accurate for kids with extreme growth or higher than average torso to body proportions.)

What is her standing height? Many harnessed seats will max out at 49” which could be a factor to consider.
