How to measure for overhang on Keyfit base?

May be a dumb question...but I've never faced an overhang issue before lol.

Keyfit 30 base....when I measure for overhang, do I measure the length of the entire base, including up by the lockoffs, just the base of the seat that is wide plus the angle adjuster part (basically everything that touches the seat bottom) or just the length of the base that is touching the seat minus the angle adjuster. On the picture below...measure the red line, purple line, or blue line?
