Belt retraction problems in booster

My 9yo is fairly petite, 51" and 49 lb. We have a 2013 CR-V and a parkway SGL. The problem is the belt tends to bunch up in the guide; also it doesn't retract if he leans a bit forward and then back, it just stays loose. I tried my friend's turbo and it does the same thing. The seat belt is not height adjustable. Please help! Sadly a new car is not an option. ..

If you are open to a backless booster, that could be a good option at his age and size. I believe the Evenflo Amp/big kid booster can be useful for some tricky belts if you want a high back, but I don’t have any direct experience.
