Question Locking Clip

I have a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee with emergency locking retractors only. The seatbelts are equipped with cinching latch plates, but once tightened I can rather easily tug on the car seat and get slack. So my question is are the lightweight cinching latch plates good enough or should I consider using a locking clip? Thanks!

Hi there.

How are you tightening the belt for the seat? If you add weight and pull tight by the buckle, and the belts still aren't staying tight, I'd start over. Add weight and pull tight. Then, unbuckle and flip the buckle 180 degrees and then rebuckle. That'll hold it tight and it's easier than using a locking clip.

If it's not staying tight, though, that's never good enough. However, there's an easier solution in this case than a locking clip. :)
