Hi!

We have a 2012 Toyota Sienna and we just found out we are expecting baby #4. We have a 5 year old, 3 year old, 2 year old. So they will all be front facing by the time the baby comes. Is there any possible way to fit 4 carseats in this thing? I can't even imagine having to look for a new van, ughh. If it's possible, what are the carseats that would work? The fact that there is only 1 tether in the back is really frustrating!

Congrats on #4!

How old will they be when the newest makes their arrival? And what seats do you currently have? Is leaving the youngest rear facing an option? That frees up a tether. Or, will the oldest be booster ready? That also frees up a tether. You could either put the two youngest in the third row, both rear facing, or the oldest in a booster in the third row and the baby.

Getting the baby in the second row is where it gets trickier. I mean, physically putting the baby there is easy. But then getting two others tethered is harder.

What if your oldest is booster ready, and your younger two are rear facing? Then your (let's go with their current ages) two year old and five year old are in the third row rear facing and boostered. Your baby is in the second row rear facing, of course. Your three year old is in the second row and tethered. You've got all four in a corner, basically. You don't need to worry about fitting two seats next to one another. You don't need to worry about a tether, because only one child is using one. The only real concern is fitting a rear facing seat in the third row, front to back.

Doable for you?

Let us know what seats you already own, and maybe we can make this happen with very few pennies spent. And how tall and heavy the kiddos are, please.
